Aircraft Parts Maker Saves Energy with Precision

ReCharge NY Success Story
Magellan Aerospace provides complex assemblies and systems solutions to aircraft and engine manufacturers, defense and space agencies from a number of locations worldwide. So its $20 million renovation and its investment in cutting-edge equipment for its factory in Bohemia, on Long Island, represents a significant commitment to doing business in NY. The ReCharge NY program approved 1,200 kilowatts of lower-cost power from NYPA to support the renovation and continued operations in Bohemia. The upgrades improve Magellan workers' ability to produce landing gear and hydraulic assemblies for large commercial airplanes, and wing and fuselage assemblies for defense planes, including the 35 Lightning II stealth fighter jet.
“With the savings we’ve made from ReCharge NY, we reinvested in our facility and are able to open new doors.”
—John Marcello, Magellan Aerospace General Manager
