WHITE PLAINS—Officials at the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and the State University of New York (SUNY) on Thursday, Jan. 23, will announce the comprehensive energy efficiency projects NYPA and SUNY have undertaken and/or completed at 10 SUNY campuses across the state in 2013 in support of Governor Cuomo’s Build Smart NY initiative. Upgrades at SUNY Purchase College will be among the energy efficiency measures highlighted.

NYPA President and Chief Executive Officer Gil C. Quiniones will be joined by Purchase College President Thomas J. Schwarz, Richard L. Kauffman, chairman New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and chairman of Energy and Finance for New York, and SUNY Vice Chancellor of Research, Dr. Timothy Killeen, to unveil nearly $80 million in cost-saving innovative energy efficiency projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 21,000 tons annually at Purchase College.

Following the news conference, tours of a recently completed 1000-ton chiller and ice storage system on the Purchase College campus will be offered. It is located a short walk from the news conference location.

• Turn onto campus from Anderson Hill Road. Stay to the center/left lane.  Turn left (at large sculpture) and follow road around about less than a mile. Pass parking LOT W-1 on right. Make right turn into W-2. This is public parking area.
• All attendees need to walk from lot to stairs going up to main plaza.
• Students will be on hand to help direct attendees to Student Services building.
