The New York Power Authority Hosts Native American Pow Wow Festival on August 19 and 20 at Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center

NORTH BLENHEIM—The New York Power Authority (NYPA), in cooperation with the Big Indian Native American Cultural Center, will hold a Native American Pow Wow festival at the Blenheim-Gilboa visitors center on Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 


The “Intertribal Pow Wow at Bubbling Springs” will feature representatives from various Native American tribes singing, dancing and flute-playing, along with other displays of Native American culture.


Lunging Bear from the Powhatan Nation in Pennsylvania will be doing a program with an anti-drug and alcohol message through dancing, singing and storytelling.


The Spirit of the Mountain Drum and Grey Wolf Spirit Drum will be on hand with music and dancing and the Taino people from the mountains of the Caribbean will demonstrate traditional drumming and dancing from their tribe.

There will be other acts as well and a wide variety of different activities for the entire family. Food and vendors will be on site and admission and parking are free.
