NYPA's Visitors Centers - Free Seasonal Events


As the cooler temperatures of autumn arrive, the foliage throughout New York State becomes vibrant - and colorful shades of red, orange and yellow seem to paint the landscape. Our visitors centers are set amidst some of the most scenic locations in New York State, and we invite you to enjoy the beauty of the season at our visitors centers during our free, family-friendly events.


WESTERN NEW YORK

NYPA’s Halloween events are a real treat for the whole family!

Coming Soon at the Niagara Power Vista Visitors Center: The Annual "Halloween Spooktacular" Saturday, Oct. 27!

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy an array of spooky activities and games sure to please the whole family. Children (newborn to 15 years old) can enter the costume contest between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.

Known as the Power Vista, the visitors center is located 4 miles downstream from Niagara Falls and it features more than 50 interactive exhibits and a new QR code tour! Call 866-NYPA-FUN (697-2386) for information.


CENTRAL NEW YORK (B-G)

Get your costume ready for a spooky weekend of fun at B-G!

Coming Soon at the B-G Power Project Visitors Center: Schoharie Weekend of Halloween Fun - Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 27 & 28!

Join us for two days of “Scho-haire-raising” Halloween fun. Saturday will feature a parade, haunted hayrides and a costume contest for children of all ages, with prizes awarded. On Sunday, the free events continue, but make sure to call ahead and reserve your spot for the Haunted History Tour at Lansing Manor as space is limited.

The Blenheim-Gilboa Power Project Visitors Center in North Blenheim, is located on the Schoharie Creek in the northern Catskill Mountains. Our admission-free visitors center is housed in a 19th century dairy barn! Call 800-724-0309 for information.


NORTHERN NEW YORK

Come get your Trick-or-Treat on at NYPA’s Hawkins Point Visitors Center!

Coming Soon at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center: "Spooktacular" Halloween Party - Saturday, Oct. 27!

The day's festivities will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature face-painting and pumpkin-painting, games, movies and much more. All children in costume can Trick-or-Treat for goodie bags during the party.

The Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch offers panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River and state-of-the-art hands-on exhibits. Call 315-764-0226 for information.
