& Photo Opportunity: First Projects Funded by Buffalo & Erie County
Greenway Fund to be Announced at Presentation Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CITY OF TONAWANDA—The Buffalo & Erie County
Greenway Fund Standing Committee will hold a news conference on
Tuesday, August 26 at 1:30pm at to announce the first three projects
to be funded by the committee. The press conference will be held
adjacent to the main park building in Erie County's Isle View Park.
In the event of rain, the news conference will be in the main park
building.
Elected officials, and representatives from the
Buffalo & Erie County Greenway Committee and the winning projects
will participate in presentation of “large symbolic” checks
signifying the approval and funding of the projects.
The Buffalo & Erie County Greenway Committee
includes a representative from the City of Buffalo, Erie County,
Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the New York Power Authority.
The Buffalo & Erie County Greenway Committee
receives funds from NYPA, as part of a settlement agreement related
to the new 50-year license received by NYPA for the Niagara
project. During the term of the new license, the Buffalo & Erie
County Standing Committee will receive $2 million a year for a total
of $100 million for the development of the Niagara River Greenway in
their region.

Time: 1:30 p.m.
Where: Adjacent to the main park building in Erie
County's Isle View Park which is located at the intersection of
River Road and Two Mile Creek Road in the City of Tonawanda. It is
about 1.5 miles north of the south Grand Island Bridges. In the
event of rain, the news conference will be in the main park
building.
