Scheduled Greenway Project Review Announced by Buffalo and Erie County
Standing Committee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LEWISTON—The schedule for submitting proposed
Greenway projects to the Buffalo & Erie County Greenway Fund
Standing Committee was established Wednesday at their meeting held
at Marcy Casino, Delaware Park. June 15, 2008 was set as the
submission deadline for projects to be considered for review and
funding. Another round of project review and funding is expected
later this year.
The committee selected Holly Sinnot, Commissioner,
Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, as
chairperson.
Guidelines and instructions for projects seeking
funding from the Buffalo & Erie County Standing Committee are posted
at
http://niagara.nypa.gov. Project submission questions should be
directed to Rob Daly, Special Advisor for Relicensing, New York
Power Authority (NYPA).
The Buffalo & Erie County Standing Committee is
composed of one representative from Erie County, City of Buffalo,
Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and NYPA.
The Buffalo & Erie County Standing Committee
receives funds from NYPA, as part of a settlement agreement related
to the new 50-year license received by NYPA for the Niagara Power
Project. During the term of the new license, the Buffalo & Erie
County Standing Committee will receive $2 million a year.
The next meeting for the Buffalo & Erie County
Standing Committee is scheduled for 6pm on July 15, 2008 at the
Marcy Casino. All meetings are open to the public.
