for Closure of Adult Fish Bypass at Vischer Ferry Dam

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ALBANY—The New York Power Authority (NYPA), working
with the Canal Corporation, will oversee a water drawdown on July 11
to close the adult fish bypass at Vischer Ferry dam, on the Mohawk
River. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, July 11

Drawdown of the water level at Vischer Ferry
will start at 4 am and drop to the elevation of
210.9 feet by 10:30 am. The work will be completed and the
water level will start to rise by 11:30 am.

Water level at Vischer Ferry will return to
normal level in approximately 18 to 36 hours after the work is
complete, depending on the river flow.
Unforeseen precipitation and high water conditions
may delay this schedule or decrease the time to refill. Any
