FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCY—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will
participate in the Oneida County Farm/Home Safety Day on June 7 at
the Boonville Fairgrounds. Approximately 350 fifth-grade students
from six area elementary schools – Remsen, General William Floyd,
Holland Patent, Forestport, West Leyden and Boonville – are expected
to attend.
Two staff members from NYPA’s Frederick R. Clark
Energy Center in Marcy—David Neary, safety, health and fire
protection administrator, and Ann Cianfrocco, community relations
specialist—will teach a class on safety. All Safety Day attendees
will receive safety glasses from NYPA.
The goal of the Safety Day is to teach children how
to prevent injuries. There will be a wide range of presenters from
local fire departments, industries, local hospitals and equipment
dealers.
