Release of EPA Study on School Bus Emissions

BRONX—“The New York
Power Authority has a long record of green initiatives to help
improve air-quality in the New York City area. The Clean School Bus
Program mentioned here today, helped the Department of Education
jump-start efforts to address school bus emissions. We are
especially pleased that 491 school buses operating in the Bronx now
have diesel oxidation catalyst,” said Timothy S. Carey, president
and chief executive officer, NYPA. “In the Hunts Point area,
we’ve supported efforts to electrify the utility vehicles at the new
markets while also providing electric delivery trucks for the U.S.
Postal Service.”
