FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ALBANY— Due to recent high water conditions the
annual installation of flashboards, boat warning systems and fish
deterrent systems at Crescent and Vischer Ferry dams, previously
scheduled to begin on the evening of April 22, 2007, has been
delayed.
This work is now expected to begin the week of
April 30.
A revised schedule will be announced when more
information is available.

The New York Power Authority (NYPA), working with
the Canal Corporation, oversees the seasonal installation of buoys
and flashboards at Crescent and Vischer Ferry dams, located on the
Mohawk River in the Towns of Niskayuna, Clifton Park and Colonie.
The New York State Canal System is scheduled to open on or before
May 1st, depending on weather.
