Joanne Willmott

December 21, 2006

LEWISTON—The Power Vista, the admission-free visitors center at the New York Power Authority’s Niagara Power Project, will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season, except for Dec. 24 and 25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

A new program, Jeopardy, will test visitors’ trivia knowledge and help them to learn more about energy and electricity.  The program is available daily at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Another prime attraction for the entire family is the Basics of Electricity program, which provides a “hair raising” experience on the Van de Graaf generator.  Shows are offered daily at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The Power Vista features more than 50 interactive exhibits on electricity, technology, Niagara Frontier history and more.  The center also offers free programs for students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

For further information, or to schedule a field trip for students, scouts or youth groups, please call 716-286-6661 or visit the Power Authority’s Web site at www.nypa.gov .
