WHITE PLAINS—A video depicting the history of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) will be available on Cablevision’s Channel 76 in the White Plains area at 6 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 4, l1 18 and 25.

The video, produced to mark the Power Authority’s 75th anniversary this year and titled “Bold Dream…Shining Legacy,” includes extensive coverage of events leading to the Power Authority’s founding in 1931 and goes on to trace its growth into the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility.

NYPA supplies economical electricity to most government facilities in Westchester County and to a number of the county’s businesses.  It has also implemented energy efficiency projects at about 225 schools and other public facilities in the county.  The Authority’s administrative offices are in downtown White Plains.

 About NYPA:

 ■    NYPA uses no tax money or state credit.  It finances its operations through the sale of bonds and revenues earned in large part through sales of electricity.  ■    NYPA is a leader in promoting energy-efficiency, new energy technologies and electric transportation initiatives.  ■    It is the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility, with 18 generating facilities in various parts of the state and more than 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines.
