Two Big Checks for Controlling Invasive Aquatic
Plant—Sen. James L. Seward, far left, and the New York Power
Authority (NYPA) presented ceremonial checks Sept. 5 at the SUNY
Oneonta Biological Field Station (BFS) in Cooperstown for mitigating
the growth of water chestnuts, a nonnative species impacting an
Otsego County wetlands area. In addition to Senator Seward, from
left, are Matt Albright, assistant to the director of the BFS;
Willow Eyres, a biology graduate student at the BFS; Dr. Willard N.
Harman, BFS director; and Steven J. DeCarlo, NYPA senior vice
president, Transmission.
