News Advisory: Special Movies for Children on Martin Luther King Jr. Day School Holiday

January 5, 2006

A special program of movies for children will be screened at the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Hawkins Point Visitors Center to provide entertainment for children on the school holiday celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday January 16.

“The Incredibles” will be shown at 10 to 11:30 am.

Following “The Incredibles,”  watch “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” starring Lindsay Lohan, as she brings back to life everyone’s favorite 1960’s VW Beetle, Herbie.  Herbie begins at 1 pm and runs through 2:30 pm.

When not watching the movies, visitors can stroll through the wide array of hands-on exhibits, at the newly constructed $5 million Visitors Center, which presents information on the themes of Water Power and the St. Lawrence Project, Basics of Electricity and Uses of Electricity.  Children and adults alike will enjoy being able to touch, see and listen to the many interactive models on display.
