Movies for Children on Martin Luther King Jr. Day School Holiday

A special program of movies for children will be
screened at the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Hawkins Point
Visitors Center to provide entertainment for children on the school
holiday celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday January 16.
“The Incredibles” will be shown at 10 to 11:30 am.
Following “The Incredibles,” watch “Herbie:
Fully Loaded,” starring Lindsay Lohan, as she brings back to life
everyone’s favorite 1960’s VW Beetle, Herbie. Herbie begins at 1 pm
and runs through 2:30 pm.
When not watching the movies, visitors can stroll
through the wide array of hands-on exhibits, at the newly
constructed $5 million Visitors Center, which presents information
on the themes of Water Power and the St. Lawrence Project, Basics of
Electricity and Uses of Electricity. Children and adults alike will
enjoy being able to touch, see and listen to the many interactive
models on display.
Visitors are also sure to enjoy the panoramic views
of the power dam from Hawkins Point.

Admission to the Visitors Center is always FREE.
DIRECTIONS: From Massena: Take State Route 37 east
to Route 131 (across from St. Lawrence Centre Mall), turn left and
proceed through the Eisenhower Lock tunnel. Then take the second
right onto Robinson Bay Road and continue for two miles. Turn left
onto Hawkins Point Road and follow the entrance road to the visitors
center.
