FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ALBANYThe New York Power Authority (NYPA) will hold a public forum on Monday, March 26 concerning proposed revisions in rates for certain electricity generated at the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant which the Authority purchases from Entergy Corp. for resale to utility customers.
The forum is scheduled for 2 p.m. in NYPAs office on the 10th floor at 30 South Pearl St., Albany.
The proposed rate revisions relate to the costs of supplying electricity to utilities. The rates for businesses, non-profit organizations, municipal electric systems and rural electric cooperatives that purchase FitzPatrick-generated electricity from NYPA would be unaffected.
Power Authority trustees will consider comments made at the public forum and in written statements before acting on the proposed rate changes. NYPA has published a notice of the forum in the State Register and has advised the affected utilities in writing of the proposed action. The proposed rate revisions would take effect June 1 if approved by the NYPA trustees.
