N.Y. Power Authority Set to Host Summer Spectacular at Hawkins Point Visitors Center July 8

MASSENA - The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will celebrate the season with its annual Summer Spectacular on Saturday, July 8, at the Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch.

Free fun for the entire family kicks off at 10 a.m. with crafts projects for kids, bounce houses, an ice cream social and fishing at the center’s handicapped-accessible fishing pier.

The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 25 vendors will be available offering everything from jewelry and crafts, to concession and food items for the whole family to enjoy from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. guests will be treated to ice cream novelties while enjoying panoramic views of NYPA’s St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project.

Events wrap up at 4 p.m.

Guests are also invited to tour NYPA’s visitors center, with a wide range of interactive exhibits on electricity and NYPA’s very first hydroelectric power facility. The visitors center is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
