Michael Saltzman is director of media relations and has served as head of the New York Power Authority's Corporate Communications department since September 2011. He is responsible for developing and implementing all communications programs including media relations, internal communications and strategic communications planning for the statewide authority.
As director of media relations, he has provided information to print and broadcast outlets on NYPA's diverse contributions in New York State, including lower cost power, enhanced electric service reliability, cleaner air, economic development and introduction of new alternative technologies. His responsibilities have included responding to press inquiries and preparing news releases, op-ed pieces, speeches and briefing materials.
Before joining the Power Authority in 1980, Michael worked as a reporter and newscaster at several radio stations in the New York Metropolitan Area.
He is an alumnus of Brooklyn College, with a Bachelor's degree in political science, and has a graduate degree in public administration from New York University.
He resides in Manhattan with his wife Arlette.
