NYPA Gives Upper Niagara Intake Observation Area $1.3 Million Facelift

Roadside along the Robert Moses Parkway

Hi Res

Landscaping improvements and other enhancements are transforming a previously stark roadside stop along the Robert Moses Parkway into an attractive new 10-acre park with an arresting view and unparalleled access to shoreline fishing. Courtesy of the New York Power Authority (NYPA), in cooperation with other state agencies, the work is taking place at the Upper Niagara River Observation Area in Niagara Falls where NYPA's large intake structures allow water to be drawn into the Niagara Power Project. The work is expected to be completed in early 2012.
