The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is providing $2.2 million in funding to Clarkson University for the planning, design and installation of energy efficiency measures at the university’s Old Main Building in downtown Potsdam. The  improvements represent one aspect of a larger renovation, expected to begin in 2013,  that will restore this beautiful example of Potsdam sandstone and transform the century-old building into a “green” data, research and education center for the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries in Beacon, N.Y., a  subsidiary of Clarkson University.
