President Obama sat down with electric utility industry executives, including NYPA President and CEO Gil Quiniones on May 8, to discuss lessons learned during the response to Superstorm Sandy and ongoing preparations for the 2013 hurricane season. Also at the meeting, held at the Department of Energy, were senior members of President Obama’s response team, representatives from industry trade organizations and officials from government agencies including the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security.
